Playing Up & Down

Playing Up
A child Playing Up (PU) in an older age division. This Special Request (SR) can be submitted on the player signup form, Player Placement Section. Those submitting this request need to be confident that their younger child can compete with older children, and understand what is being taught by the coaches. These SR's will be decided on a case-by-case basis each season, and only considered if there is an open spot in the older age division.

Playing Down
A child Playing Down (PD) in a younger age division. This Special Request (SR) can be submitted on the player signup form, Player Placement Section. Those submitting this request can do so if their child has a handicap, or because their child's size and ability are that of younger children. These SR's will be decided on a case-by-case basis each season, and only considered if there is an open spot in the younger age division. Should a player whose request to play down be approved, and this player turns out to be a dominant player, the player will be asked to transfer to their own age division, and pay a $35 (U9/U12) or $55 (U12/U15) Transfer Fee to cover their new late order team top.

Playing Up & Down
For those who are contemplating submitting a request to have a child play up or down because it would be more convenient for you to have your children on the same team, this all too often isn't in the best interest of one of the children. What might be done to help you is for you to ask if your children can have the Same Practice Night If Possible (SPNIP).

Head Coach's Child Playing Up & Down
If a division is in need of a Head Coach special consideration will be given to that person to allow a child of theirs to play up or down.
